Abstract:

Actions aimed at facilitating migrants' integration and inclusion in the Italian society tend to prioritize verbal, cultural and social communication dynamics, while, in general, less attention is given to non-verbal codes. However, if not recognized and correctly interpreted, non-verbal codes can be the cause of misunderstandings, prejudice and stereotypes and hinder integration. The website was created to raise awareness on the differences in the uses and interpretations of non-verbal elements of intercultural communication, so as to promote mutual understanding, improve migrants' integration and inclusion in Italy and boost intercultural relationships based on respect.
